How to stop Acer laptop from shutting down


Acer laptop has a variety of power options that will make your laptop perform certain actions when you change the system state. Your default selected 'Power Plan' includes an auto-shut down once Windows senses that the lid of the computer has been closed. Get here how to fix Acer laptop's screen.

Step 1: Simply Click 'Start -> Control Panel'.

Step 3: Now move to the left side of the window and click on 'Change What Closing the Lid Does' link.

Step 4: Click 'Closing the Lid' drop down menu and select either 'Sleep', 'Hibernate' or 'Do Nothing'.

Step 5: All three of these options will stop your Acer laptop from shutting down completely when you close the lid. Click 'OK' to save changes.

If your laptop shuts down after some time without any reason and warning, check if the cooling fan spins. Usually it makes some noise and you can hear it. If the fan works fine, then check if the heat sink is clogged.
